Police reopened an exclusion zone created yesterday after a person threatened officers with a spear gun.
Queensland Police established an exclusion zone at about 10.30am on Friday, after stories of a disturbance at a property in Bungalow, Cairns.
A state of emergency was declared beneath the Public Security Preservation Act (PSPA) at 12pm, with boundaries established at Little Spence Avenue, Buchan Avenue, Kidston Avenue and Hartley Avenue.
Police claimed they tried to sort out a person once they have been threatened with a speargun, which was fired at officers.
The general public was requested to keep away from the realm throughout the operation.
The PSPA was repealed at 2.17am because the state of emergency eased.
A 46-year-old man is “helping police with their investigations.”
The investigation is ongoing.
